Hey Everyone!

We're in the final weeks of tightening up Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and things are looking great! We're spending a lot of time polishing the game up and are looking forward to the release next month!

One of the newest additions to MK vs DCU is the implementation of Trophies and Achievements. These have been really exciting to design and execute, and I wanted to take the time to share with you guys one of the cooler aspects of this new system.

We have dedicated a number of GP and Trophies to a new mode we have entitled "KOMBO CHALLENGE."

KOMBO CHALLENGE is inherently what the name implies: a series of challenging combos for each character. Upon selecting this mode, you will be given the option of choosing the character you would like to perform as, as well as choosing your opponent (awesome) and choosing your background (awesome).

The mode itself totally reminds me of some of the challenges that Shujinko had to endure in Konquest mode in Deception. It's a great mechanic to teach the player the possibilities of custom combos and the stringing together of special moves and Pro Moves. Did I mention that it is extremely challenging?!!! The combos have been designed with special input from Ed and the designers, as well as assistance from a few of the gameplay testers here at Midway Chicago.

It is a very deep gameplay mode and there are quite a few surprises in there that will ensure you guys will want to complete each and every combo for your favorite characters. I myself have learned quite a few combos that I would not have thought of before through this mode. I have always known I could perform a pistol whip with The Joker coming out of his Green Smoke special move, and by the playing KOMBO CHALLENGE, I was able to learn that after pistol whipping someone, I could flip the gun around and shoot my opponent as well!

I'm really looking forward to the feedback from the fans about this mode. We've taken a lot of time to make sure this was done correctly, from the interesting names for each of the combos, to the player direction we give to inform you when to press each of the buttons, to the visual feedback of successfully completing a combo. After completing all 10 challenges for your chosen character, you will unlock his/her respective Trophy/Achievement, and everyone will know that you are the master! Special bonus for completing all 20 characters! :)

I'm going to go back to working on my Sub Zero challenges now, so that I'll be ready to face you all online next month when MK vs DCU hits the shelves!
