Developer Diary

Looks like I have the privilege to be the guest blogger again. By the time this blog has posted, we should have officially announced that the game has gone gold. We here on the team are really excited by this, and can't wait for November 16th, and see it on store shelves here in the US. As I have mentioned in my previous blog, currently both Hector and I are on the road this week helping to launch the game in Europe. Hopefully there will be some time to do some sightseeing as well. We'll try to blog from the road, and maybe have some pictures to show you guys.

One thing both Hector and I would like to do is apologize for the lack of MKasts. As we were coming towards the close of the project we were focused on working with the team to get the game done. Not only doing our regular day to day duties like following up with PR and Marketing, creating screen shots and video footage, getting WB/DC sign off on content of DC characters and assets, working with QA on bug issues, but also making sure all these guys and gals on the team were properly fed. Hopefully we'll be able to get back into the studio soon and give you guys a proper update and answer more of your questions.

So as we come to a close on the development side of the game, I am given more time to reflect on these last few months. It's been one crazy ride. Weekly calls with Warner Bros. and DC, Leipzig, Comic-con, E3, and other gaming events, team meetings, coordination with our central groups, such as Cinematics and UI, it's simply amazing that among all this "chaos" a game was completed. But it wasn't all pandemonium. In fact there are only a few moments that could be called truly crazy. Every project has its crazy moments. It's part of the process, but it's through these moments you really get to know the character, the substance of your fellow team members. I'm just blown away by the dedication this group has. We laughed, we yelled, we cried, and ultimately we triumphed. Were there things that could have been better? Sure, and lessons were learned. We'll apply this knowledge to the next project. But in the end, I think this has brought us closer as a team. For myself, I'm proud to say I'm a part of this team of extremely talented and creative people. I know Hector and I constantly say this, but it's true.

Tell your friends,
Hans
